Son of Mitt Romney campaigning for dad in Panhandle
He could have passed for a hometown boy except that he ordered herbal tea. And if it had been him running for president instead of his dad, he might have left with a favorable bloc. Josh Romney, one of the five sons of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, stopped in Marianna Thursday for a visit to a small cafe. For about an hour he visited with diners and never lost his seemingly genuine smile. Josh, 32, married and the father of three, was taking a turn on the Mitt Mobile, as are two other Romney sons, Tagg, who is a full-time campaign adviser, and Criag, the youngest. Romney also tours on the Mitt Mobile but this week was in South Florida and in Tallahassee visiting with Florida Gov. Charlie Crist. Two Romney for President workers were traveling with Josh ? Jessica Walter and Mandy Fletcher, the campaign director for Florida.
Another plantation strike will have dire consequences - Ravi Peiris
The tea industry will face adverse consequences and will be unable to recover from the colossal loss if plantation employees resort to another strike backed by Trade Unions, said Director General, Employers' Federation of Ceylon Ravi Peiris. He said the tea industry has not recovered yet from the colossal loss it suffered due to the previous strike and its adverse effects which ran into billions of rupees. "The tea industry will collapse if employees resort to another strike of that magnitude", he said. Plantation Trade Unions are demanding a wage revision for employees in keeping with the rising cost-of-living. The Unions are seeking an increase of the minimum wage to Rs. 200 which will make up their monthly basic wages to around Rs. 5,000. The minimum daily wage of an employee is Rs.
